Menreiki is a yokai (a Japanese demon) in the category of tsukumogami (objects that acquire a soul after one hundred years from their creation). It is composed of 66 masks from the ancient Gigaku theater. Seemingly innocuous, it is said to possess those who do not wisely wear a mask and force the victims to create a representation of the performances for which the masks were originally used.
